Learning, Acting, Creating and Educating for Sustainable Development Goals

The “LACE for SDGs” capacity building project has finally started!

It involves 7 countries from Europe and Asia: Bulgaria, Spain, Italy, France, India, Thailand, Nepal.

Learning, Acting, Creating and Educating for Sustainable Development Goals” (LACE for SDGs) is an innovative project that aims to address and give solutions to the issues that are mentioned in the 17 Sustainable Development Goals by involving youth initiatives through a complete cycle of activities to raise awareness on SDGs, through a training course and a piloting and evaluating project. The project targets mainly youth, NGOs and the local communities, where youngsters live and struggle with problems in term of environment, poverty, human rights violations, climate change, gender inequality, etc. By using non-formal education methodology and youth-approach techniques, LACE for SDGs will encourage and inspire youth to contribute to the achievement of SDGs in their own community and country.

The project consists of:

  • A competition on innovative projects regarding the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (“Innovation Competition“) in the period between the 20th November 2017 – the 15th of February 2018. The projects will be funded by a grant up to a 1 000€ and the winners will have to envisage either a local event or a local project of the duration of maximum 3 months (May- July 2018);
  • A full funded training course in Bulgaria from the 7th until the 13th of April 2018, which will provide all the related knowledge on SDGs and it will focus on empowering the participants through the use of non-formal education methodology and youth-approaches, by giving them the instruments to carry out the implementation of their projects together with the local partner organization.
