Usually, we see. Usually, we walk, we hear … But normalcy in the common sense is also good health. So, we tend to
consider that if being disabled is abnormal, it is also being in poor health. In our mind, in our culture,
in our social system, the association: “disabled so fragile”, or “disabled therefore dangerous”,
easily leads to the exclusion of disabled people, under the pretext of security. As we can see, the
world of work today is inhabited by a concern for excellence, the flip side of which is the amalgam
that, in the minds of many recruiters, associates people with disabilities to non-productivity. This
confusion produces an unfair social situation, discriminatory, and leads to the minimization of the
productive potential of the person with a disability, thus placing him / her in a situation of disability.
Thus, our Association Femmes Debout (FD) fights against the trivialization of this discrimination,
which affects mainly women. This training project will bring together young leaders and youth
workers around the issue of the fight against discrimination around people with disabilities. It will
also be a moment of information on this issue for a better awareness of the discrimination against
these people whether at the societal level or in the professional world.
