Participants profile:

 2 youth workers engaged with different groups of young people focused on raising awerness on EU policy, opportunities for young people, active citizenship – through social movements, youth organizations and associations, projects, by the non-governmental sector and national, regional and local youth policy.
 Age: 20-45
 Able to communicate in English (intermediate level – at least B2).
 Willing to act as multiplier in their local communities upon their return home or to implement their ideas on EU awareness, youth activism in practice so that they could give practical feedback within the check in that will be done in couple of months after the training. They will need to provide exact practical examples of their implementation of gained skills.

The context and the origin of the project is the need of Europe to have young people actively engaged in the EU youth activities and the social need to empower them to do so. Solidarity of young people is an important goal of the European Union and this project aspires to cultivate just that. Moreover, collaboration with youth organizations enables people responsible for the activities of this project to understand the present situation of youth and its potential to influence policy-makers in the future.
“Enter Unity – EU4U” youth initiative project will focus on boosting awareness tools among youth workers, present challenges that candidate countries to EU face at the moment and sharing good practices from current member states. The enlargement of the European Union has increased the potential for mobility in education and training, as well as in the labour market, thereby creating the need to prepare EU citizens to develop their learning and professional pathways in a broader geographical context (Council of the European Union, 2008). Practical workshops will focus on promotion tools about youth opportunities that European Union is giving, importance of cultural exchange in young people’s life. Creative practical methods will encourage having dialogue on European Union, civic participation in nowadays challenges as migration, social crisis concerning refugees massive movement. Hence, the project aims to provide the necessary information and knowledge for the participants on the issue.

The TC is addressed to youth community workers and young activists, policy makers and provides training on all main phases of the active participation in EU initiatives. Through a non-formal, intercultural and creative learning process, the TC will equip participants with knowledge and practical tools to become active citizens of EU, build a bridge between EU and non-EU youth. Finally participants will be engaged to work together by co-planning and designing ideas how to encourage young people be active in EU events, given opportunities, dissemination activities, etc.

The methodology that will be used is based in non-formal and informal training methods utilizing what Mezirow called Transformational Learning. Participants will be part of a highly interactive, experiential and holistic training thus engaging their minds, bodies and emotions.

•To explore current situation regarding EU values, social challenges and youth participation in civic society
•To search the good practices in programme and partner countries
•To create a strong and sustainable network of partners and associated partners
•To train youth workers about EU concept and principles
•To promote and advocate about youth civic participation on local and European level
•To increase the knowledge, skills and capacities of the partners to continue supporting youth even after the EU4U project is over.

Financial conditions:
– Food, accommodation and activities are 100% covered by the project
– Travel costs are 100% covered by the project up to a maximum of € 275/ participant
– “Quota associativa YouNet”: €50. These membership fees should be paid only by confirmed

As a result of the participation in this project, will be issued a European certification (“Youthpass”) certifying the skills gained and valid for the European CV.
