The different forms of social entrepreneurship have great potential for harmonization of the problem areas of society in which the state, public authorities and institutions can hardly intervene and business enterprises and companies are not interested and do not see enough well-shaped niches. Despite the achievements of law and regulation, the economic crisis and budgetary constraints have stepped up issues related to gender equality. Women feells greater uncertainty in the labor market, difficulties with vocational and careerdevelopment, various forms of violence – in the workplace and in the family. This is especially true for rural areas. There are main problems of women with poverty and social exclusion. Women represent 43% of the total number employed in agriculture and related sectors, but their employment is lower by 9- 10% than that of men. This is largely premised on the structure of agricultural holdings – small market and semi-subsistence farms with mostly family employment.

Through the implementation of the project we expect youth workers to improve their qualifications and competence to initiate and promote social entrepreneurship in rural areas, and with active participation of the youth group of women. Youth workers will realize the contribution of gender equality to economic growth and sustainable development, which supports the implementation of the dimension related to gender equality in the Europe 2020 Strategy.

The main objective of the project is to be increased professional competencies of youth workers in their work to promote social entrepreneurship and social inclusion of young women in rural areas. Specific objectives will be achieved through the implementation of balanced and harmonious curriculum, as follows:

  • acquire new knowledge to modern social technology for social and business entrepreneurship in rural areas, and providing additional services enhancing quality of life;
  • exchange of best practice between representatives of organizations partners;
  • creating conditions for intercultural exchange, social cohesion and the formation of ability to work in a team;
  • Increasing the knowledge and skills of the participants through practical activities to develop and prepare future projects under the program “Erasmus +” to overcome the female unemployment in rural areas.
