Kaprálův mlýn is a scout environmental education centre located in the Moravian Karst Protected Landscape Area, close to Brno. The organisation focuses on environmental education, sustainability, and community-based learning in close connection with nature.
Through European Solidarity Corps (ESC) projects and international cooperation, Kaprálův mlýn creates opportunities for young people to gain practical skills, contribute to environmental initiatives, and experience community living in an international environment.
AVAILABLE PROJECT
Environmental volunteering, outdoor work, educational activities, community living, nature conservation, and event support.
Multiple volunteering positions available (short-term and long-term).
DESCRIPTION
The volunteer will be part of the daily life and activities of the eco-centre, supporting both practical and educational tasks.
Volunteers will contribute to environmental education programmes, help with the daily operation of the centre, and participate in community life in a rural setting.
The project offers a unique opportunity to live close to nature, gain hands-on experience, and be part of an international volunteer team.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supporting the daily operation of the eco-centre
- Assisting with environmental education programmes and activities
- Helping with maintenance of outdoor and indoor spaces
- Participating in nature conservation and environmental tasks
- Supporting organisation of events, camps, and educational activities
- Contributing to communication, documentation, or creative tasks (e.g. social media, photography)
- Participation in community life and shared responsibilities
VOLUNTEER PROFILE
- Young people (18–30) interested in environmental work and community living
- Motivated to work outdoors and learn by doing
- Open-minded, flexible, and willing to take initiative
- Able to work both independently and in a team
- Basic knowledge of English
- No previous experience required — motivation is key

ABOUT THE LOCATION
The project takes place in the Moravian Karst Protected Landscape Area, close to Brno, the second largest city in the Czech Republic. The area offers unique natural surroundings, including forests, caves, and hiking routes, providing a rich environment for environmental education and outdoor activities.
PROJECT DURATION
Flexible (short-term and long-term opportunities available, typically 6–12 months, with possible individual arrangements)
