BIO: Believe In and working for a European Organic Future

The Believe In and Working for a European Organic Future (BIO) project belongs to Key Action 1 in the VET (Vocational Education and Training) sector of Erasmus+ and is aimed at 80 students from 4th-year classes (16–18 years old) and 16 graduates (18–20 years old) in Agricultural studies (EQF level 4) from IISS and ITMP.

Participants in the mobility activities had the opportunity to experience a European mobility programme aimed at enhancing and developing professional skills.

The project was conceived with the contribution of YOUNET APS, together with the Municipality of Bologna, as well as the schools I.I.S. “L. Spallanzani”, ITS “Achille Mapelli”, I.T. Morigia Perdisa, and the association Net in Action.

The initiative aims, through internships abroad, to provide training opportunities for students from agricultural institutes in order to:

  • Increase the amount of Work-Based Learning, particularly work experiences abroad and in the organic agriculture sector;

  • Promote the use of the ECVET model in the agricultural sector and enhance the transparency of acquired skills;

  • Help reduce the mismatch between graduates’ skills and the needs of the agricultural labour market;

  • Increase employment rates of graduates from the consortium schools, particularly for young people with fewer opportunities or at risk of marginalisation;

  • Support the advancement of the agricultural sector in terms of internationalisation and innovation.
