We are pleased to present the project “Creative at Home”, a collaborative initiative that received co-funding under the Erasmus+ Programme, in which the Bologna-based NGO YouNet APS is a partner organisation. The programme beneficiary is the Cluster of Social Innovation Foundation, while the other partners are MOSAIC // Culture & Creativity from Greece, Pučko otvoreno učilište Čakovec from Croatia, and Blue Beehive from Spain.

With the development of technology and the emergence of increasingly advanced online tools, more and more people are beginning to take advantage of these opportunities for creative work. Without leaving home and using free online tools, it is now possible to create a video, a presentation, an audio recording, or even organise online meetings, virtual conferences, or use real-time collaboration tools.
This article will present the best free internet tools we have collected that can be used for creative work in various fields such as marketing, art, or education. In this article, you will discover the advantages of different tools for your activity, career, or passion.

If you are interested in tools from the VIDEO category, on the website you can find courses on Renderforest, Videoscribe, Vyond, Magisto, WeVideo, Windows Movie Maker, Vimeo, or Animaker. Each of these tools allows you to freely adjust videos: shorten them, change colours, add special effects or animations, as well as smooth transitions. Video files are currently among the most in-demand forms of communication worth learning and developing. Video content is everywhere—from TikTok to floating banners, from Instagram videos to YouTube tutorials. The appeal of video has taken over the internet and social media.

If you are interested in tools from the GRAPHICS category, on the website you can find courses on Canva, Picsart, Stencil, Vectr, Fotojet, Google Drawings, Unsplash, Snapseed, Freepik, Crello, Be Funky, and Fotor. Thanks to these tools, the graphics you create will become even more professional and attractive. Most of the posts we publish, the information we provide, and the presentations we create are based on graphics. Graphic creation tools allow you to present the results of your work in a pleasant and engaging way and, above all, to create a wide variety of projects such as invitations, business cards, lesson plans, presentations, infographics, posters, flyers, Instagram posts, letterheads, recipe cards, CVs, and more.

If you are interested in tools from the PRESENTATIONS category, on our website you can find courses on Prezi, Mentimeter, Slides, Lucidpress, Venngage, Visme, Zoho Show, Genially, Flowvella, Powtoon, or Emaze. Presentations play an important role in structuring content, as they help people process and better understand the information presented. Leave PowerPoint behind and discover the fascinating world of online presentations! A new generation of web applications—much more future-proof thanks to interactive and advanced features—is waiting to be used. Thanks to these tools, your presentations will stand out. Teachers, trainers, entrepreneurs, students, and anyone interested in communicating information more effectively can benefit from this wide range of presentation tools.

If you are interested in COMMUNICATION tools, on our website you can find courses on Anchor, Mailchimp, and Survey Monkey. These tools allow you to create newsletters, surveys, research activities, and increase connections, as well as sales or knowledge sharing worldwide. Online instant communication platforms can help you raise your standards of inspiration and creativity.

If you are interested in tools from the AR & VR category, on our website you can find courses on Aumentaty Community and CoSpaces. AR/VR applications can include rich graphic content and be used in the artistic world. Art, as a discipline, has always been linked to innovation, which is why these technologies are increasingly used in artists’ development. The presented applications allow users to paint or draw in 3D using AR/VR, sculpt, model, and even create animations.

If you are interested in tools from the COOPERATION category, on our website you can find courses on Padlet, Socrative, Flinga, Wakelet, Jamboard, Mural, Wordcloud, Wisemapping, Trello, Witeboard, and Lino. These are tools for sharing knowledge and organising ideas. Many of them are based on the principles of visual thinking, which helps increase synergy by sharing knowledge and ideas visually within a group, combining thoughts, and planning projects.

If you are interested in ONLINE MEETING tools, on our website you can find courses on Miro, Adobe Connect, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Jitsi Meet. Whether remote work stays or not, one thing is certain: tools for online meetings and conferences are here to stay. Meeting management software helps both individuals and teams plan, organise, manage efficiently regardless of distance, and record meeting outcomes. Thanks to the tools we offer, you will improve your communication skills, save time, and gain easy access to online interactions.

In addition to the website we developed, you can watch all the videos we created on our YouTube channel  and on our Facebook profile.

“Creative at Home” is a project created to support artists who face difficulties in their daily work. As part of the initiative, together with partners from Italy, Greece, Poland, Spain, and Croatia, we developed an innovative model of online art education for adults who want to develop their creativity and entrepreneurial skills. On the prepared website, you can find:

  • Free textbooks on marketing, online courses, correct selection of online tools for daily work, and research descriptions on artists’ challenges

  • Over 50 free tools in the categories of video, audio, graphics, presentations, VR & AR, online meetings, cooperation, communication, and screencast tools

  • Access to PDF and video courses

  • Access to 5 free workshop scenarios that can be downloaded and used

  • Contact details of the project coordinator and partners, who are always available to answer your questions

If you are interested in tools from the AUDIO category, on the website you can find courses on Audacity—a free audio editor that allows users to record and edit music and podcasts—SoundCloud, or 123apps. Music and audio content play a very important role in creative work. They allow you to edit and better adapt prepared clips to make them more attractive to the target audience. Record your first audio material and then edit it using tools that allow you to add special effects and freshness to your clips. Is your clip ready? Upload it to popular platforms such as Spotify and YouTube and share it with your friends. You can use your audio clips anywhere—as background for films, presentations, songs for breaks, or leisure time.
