This project, led by YouNet APS within the framework of the European Solidarity Corps programme, enables young people to engage in long-term volunteering placements in Bologna and nearby areas. It strives to promote social inclusion, intercultural understanding, and active participation in civic life, with particular attention to those from marginalized or rural communities who face greater challenges in accessing opportunities.
By taking part in a wide range of educational, cultural, and solidarity activities, volunteers contribute meaningfully to local community development, promote European values, and gain valuable personal and professional experiences. Ultimately, the project seeks to nurture a more inclusive society, empowering young individuals to drive positive change both locally and across Europe.
Objectives:
Intercultural Dialogue & European Belonging
- Promote awareness of Europe’s values, traditions, and opportunities.
- Engage young people from rural and peripheral regions who often face limited access.
- Volunteers encourage cultural exchange, strengthen knowledge of the EU, and help communities feel more connected.
Inclusion & Social Cohesion
- Support disadvantaged groups in rural and peripheral areas to reduce isolation.
- Volunteers deliver cultural, educational, and recreational activities that provide real support.
- These initiatives build solidarity, foster intercultural and intergenerational understanding, and inspire volunteers to act as advocates for inclusion.
Empowering Youth through Volunteering
- Involve young Europeans with fewer opportunities in impactful volunteer projects.
- Offer safe, supportive environments that promote participation and active citizenship.
- Volunteering helps youth gain skills, confidence, and networks, while contributing to a more inclusive and cohesive society.
