Beatrice's experience in Portugal

Hi everyone, my name is Beatrice and I live in Abruzzo!

I carried out my 12-month European project in Lisbon, Portugal, at the Vasco da Gama Aquarium.

I was involved in the chemical analysis of the water in the tanks within the facility, worked in the plankton area, and supported my colleagues in taking care of our aquatic residents. I met many people from all over the world, and together we traveled throughout Portugal, discovering truly magical places.

We tasted new foods and learned a great deal about Portuguese culture, the country that hosted us. We fell in love with the ocean and the colors of the sunsets.

It was the most beautiful experience of my life—one that I will always carry with me and that I am sure will be extremely valuable for my professional growth.

Lisbon is now my second home, and waiting for me there is my second family, made up of all the wonderful Portuguese people with whom I worked and built strong friendships. And I definitely don’t rule out the possibility of returning soon to one of the most beautiful European capitals there is!
