Chiara's experience in France

06.09.2023

It was certainly an unforgettable year—essential for my personal growth and truly clarifying when it comes to all those “future” choices that we so often tend to postpone. But let’s start from the beginning…

I lived in Paris for ten months, working for the association AFS Vivre Sans Frontières, a non-profit organization that promotes intercultural and linguistic exchanges. My main mission was to work in schools, delivering intercultural workshops on topics such as communication, stereotypes, prejudice, privilege, and more. All of this was carried out through non-formal education activities, which allowed me to interact freely and openly with students.

Thanks to this project, I also had the opportunity to travel throughout France, where these workshops were organized by various AFS volunteers. They welcomed me into their homes, hosted me, got to know me, and shared their traditions and everyday habits with me.

The ESC project was truly a success for me: it was a rich and fulfilling period in every sense, and it made me even more eager to discover what the future has in store.
