Francesca's Experience in Portugal

I worked and lived in Lisbon for 5 months and, at the end of the journey, I am really happy about my experience! If I recall my doubts and fears before leaving my comfort zone I really smile at myself. I had the opportunity to work with 30 amazing migrant people, get in touch with new cultures and human experiences, meeting European enthusiastic youngsters, and enjoying a new place. My favourite memory was a Christmas breakfast spent at my Portuguese friend’s place, when I tried local desserts and food, and understanding traditions.

Leaving my comfort zone made me realise the importance of problem solving skill and communicating efficiently to solve crisis. Nevertheless I really had to confront my own limits and challenge my blind spots. At the end of the day, I got more confident and empathetic, and I am sure I want to advocate for human rights!
