Hello everyone, my name is Francesco and I had the opportunity to volunteer for three months in Bialystok, Poland. It has been an incredible experience, both during the volunteering activities and in my free time, which I often spent with many other volunteers from all over Europe and beyond.
Leaving home and jumping into a completely different routine, context and culture was much easier than one might think, and I always felt welcomed by the locals of all ages. It has been an experience that I would definitely recommend to anyone who is interested.
Living abroad for a few months also helps you become more independent. You learn how to organize your daily life, manage responsibilities, and adapt to new situations, while sharing the experience with people from different countries and backgrounds.
I also found time to travel with the other volunteers, both inside and outside Poland. This made these three months feel a bit like a vacation, but at the same time it was also a very character-building experience.
