Riccardo's experience in Portugal

It feels like many months have passed, but in reality only three have gone by, and my project in Ermesinde has come to an end. My first day of volunteering started with Ermesinde no Parque. Then I began working at the Summer Camp, which was very special to me and, above all, gave me the opportunity to carry out and learn many different tasks.

Afterwards, I had the chance to provide support at Casa do Povo de Ermesinde, a day center for 50 elderly people, where I carried out several activities with them.

Finally, during the last two weeks, I experienced volunteering with the association ADICE, based in Sampaio, where I helped children of all ages with various activities, including after-school homework.

I also had the opportunity to take part in two activities organized with the Junta: the Dog Walk, followed by the inauguration of the new dog park, and the Firefighters’ Solidarity Walk, which was attended by a large number of people. Lastly, I participated in a project in which I distributed pocket ashtrays to people, with the aim of reducing the number of cigarette butts on the streets and on the ground.

I can say that Ermesinde has left me with many beautiful memories.
